Book Review: Sapphire by Sophie Lark

This is my first read of the Author and was in fact little skeptical for picking up her book. But she got me hooked right from the first page. I like books with strong female protagonists and Lex (Alexa) has matched my expectations with her sass and the multiple layers she shows herself to make this book Sapphire by Sophie Lark is an interesting read.

Genre: Romance, Crime Thriller, Suspense thrillers

Sapphire

My thoughts:

Lex is a beautiful lady, whose profession is to steal beautiful and antique figurines and art pieces across the world. Along with it, she is an expert in breaking the hearts of men too. Lex has been projected as a strong woman who is very quick in action and thinking too.

The love triangle described in the book between a cop (Black), the tough girl (Lex), and another con (Luca) would have added more credibility to the story, had the author dwelled more on the love angle between the two cons. Instant love between them had left a little bitter taste in my mouth as I didn’t expect Lex to fall that easily into love.

Black character has been projected nicely and the conflict among his emotions has come out really clearly. But the other character in the love triangle Luca wasn’t given enough attention and his sketch remains a little hazy. So readers can’t empathize with his character that much. On the whole, this book is all about Lex and she is the one who drives the entire story right from the start till the end.

Overall, this is an interesting and romantic suspense thriller, which can be finished in a single go when the reader is on a holiday or during a lazy weekend. Overall, I would rate this book, Sapphire, by Sophie Lark 4 stars.

I received a free copy of this book from Book Sirens in exchange for an honest review. My review is in no way influenced by Book Sirens.
