My Parenting Lessons from the movie Pareeksha

Last weekend, we watched the Pareeksha movie on ZEE5.  This movie stands true to the pre-movie trailer, in fact, it exceeds the trailer by several nautches. This movie is one of the best movies that shows the current day’s Education system.  One can learn several Parenting lessons from the movie Pareeksha, which is a hard-hitting family movie.

Pareeksha Movie Review:

This movie starts in the small town, Ranchi in Bihar. The main characters of this movie are played by natural artists like Adhil Hussain, Sanjay Suri, Priyanka Bose, and Shubham as the child actor. Despite being a child artist, he has stolen the entire show of the movie and acted as competently as the other senior actors of the movie.

I would say confidently that the Buchi character has chosen Adhil Hussain and its not the other way around. No other actor can do such justice to this role. His eyes spoke volumes throughout the film. Especially the time, when he enters the International school for the first time, the way his eyes were shining so brightly, reminded me and my hubby the time when our father-in-law visited my hubby while he was doing his MTech there. The story as to what has happened at that time is our favorite family story.  My father-in-law narrates it even to date to all his grandchildren. If any actor resembles or comes near to our family members’ mannerisms in real life, then we tend to start building an affinity towards that actor and character. So, no wonder, we as a family started liking Adhil Hussain better in this movie.

Having said, that, I am not undermining the other actors. Sanjay Suri made his presence remarkable as he is the key to the entire movie. His facial expressions and body language just stole the show when he was narrating his story to Buchi. Priyanka Bose gave a stellar performance with a roller coaster ride of emotions. All the main artists of this movie gave their best performances and held the movie together, that we just didn’t feel like averting our eyes away from the screen.

The tight screenplay and good direction have shortened the running time of the movie. This movie is just for 1 hour 40 minutes and that’s the reason why this movie could hold my kid’s interest and attention.

My Parenting Lessons from Pareeksha:

The following are the few Parenting lessons that we could draw from the movie Pareeksha.

  1. Having dreams about the bright future for our kids is not a crime. But the route we try to adopt in fulfilling our dreams has be true and good, otherwise our children would be made to pay the price.
  1. We need to let our kids know our financial difficulties and the real situation on the ground. There is no need to give them the false hopes that all is well in the family. Then they will not be ashamed of their situation.
  1. We as parents, can’t and shouldn’t force our children to live our dreams.  We need to be supportive of their dreams and aspirations too. #SapneSachKarenge is the fundamental right for everyone.
  1. Getting admission into the good and reputed Schools are not the sure shot success to the bright future of our children.
  1. We need to teach the humility and empathy to our children as the basic lessons. Without these two traits it’s impossible for them to achieve something in real life.
